St. Francis of Assisi

Feast Day: October 4

Patron of animals, merchants, and ecology

St. Francis enjoyed a rich life from his father’s wealth. Francis was a leader and spent many nights at wild parties. Slowly, Francis began his conversion. He began to spend more time in prayer. St. Francis went off to a cave to repent for his sins. When Francis’s father was disappointed in him for stealing money to give to the church, Francis not only gave the money back, but he stripped off his clothes from his father he went into the woods. Francis spent the rest of his life preaching and serving the Lord.
