St. Teresa of Calcutta was born in 1920.  At age 18, she joined the Sisters of Loreto and was named Sister Mary Teresa. After 20 years as a Sister of Loreto, she felt “inspiration, her call within a call” to establish a religious community, Missionaries of Charity, to serve the poorest of the poor.
