St. Sebastian was a soldier in the Roman army to be of service to other Christians who were being persecuted by the Roman Emperor Diocletian. When the emperor discovered Sebastian converting prominent Roman officials to Christianity, he ordered Sebastian to be executed by having arrows shot at him.
